Family Camping
You dont have to miss out on one of summer’s sweetest pleasures. On Friday and Saturday nights in June, July and August, Urban Park Rangers will take families camping at predetermined parks throughout the five boroughs. Activities include alfresco cookouts, ghost stories and starlit hikes before participants retire to tents. Bring your own sleeping bags; all other gear is provided. Advance online registration required.

The Committee to Improve Carroll Park has lined up another summer of performers, food and crafts. Today, Randy Kaplan hits the stage. The kindie rocker has amassed his significant fan base through folk classics (“Go Tell Aunt Rhody”), well-adapted rock standards (“You Can’t Always Get What You Want”) and his own original compositions (“Loquat Rooftop,” a lovely ditty about a night spent eating delicious fruit on top of a Brooklyn apartment building).
