Thanks to the Target Free First Friday Night program, admission to the museum is free this evening. Kids can run around the interactive exhibits, or get creative doing themed art projects.

Winter Jam NYC!!

This  annual winter sports festival that encourages New Yorkers to get out and enjoy the outdoors in the colder months. This year, for the first time, Winter Jam is coming to Brooklyn!  This annual party features snowshoeing, cross country skiing, skiing and snowboarding lessons, and the Red Bull Buttercup—where experienced snowboarders will show off their tricks.

Chinatown’s Lunar New Year Parade

Sun Feb 6 11:30am~1pm

Begins at Mott and Hester Sts (917-660-2402, betterchinatown.com).

Celebrating the year of the Rabbit this main event of Chinese New Year is in Manhattan, the parade travels from Little Italy through Chinatown, with marching bands, floats, and lion and dragon dancers twirling the entire way. Before the procession starts, get your fill of cultural performances and demonstrations at Sara Roosevelt Park (Canal St at Forsyth St).

APOLLOs Free Open House Weekend!!!

Saturday 12 noon to 5 p.m. &
Sunday 12 noon to 5 p.m.

This event will feature displays of never-before-seen Apollo memorabilia, live performances from past winners of the Apollo’s signature program, Amateur Night, history, Behind-the-scenes tours, dance demonstrations, children’s activities ,special performances and a host of other activities. We are all welcomed to explore the theater and step onto the legendary stage where many of the icons in entertainment have launched their careers….
